Hats are a new addition to my collection .  I love the idea for a bride . An alternative  idea for a flower girl  too who might spend more time swinging the pomander around till it disintegrates. Here are some of the photos  from the Forest photoshoot  featuring a rather unique and interesting bridal bouquet .

The structure is made from jute . Jute is made from a vegetable fibre which is spun into threads. It is grown in India  and India is the largest producer of Jute in the world . So a natural sustainable material.

The roses are cream ‘Avalanche’ and the little green flower in the centre is Euphorbia Robbiae which I grow in my own garden

Off to Sutton  on Wenesday to do a demonstration for Sutton Floral Art Group.

Busy week ahead as I also have three hats to make for Ladies day at Punchestown   Races .

So lots of photos on the way

Next weekend I have a Birthday Workshop for a lovely lady and her three daughters . They are all beginners, they will go home with a vertical design for the hall table and a traditional  table centre.  Tea/ coffee and homemade scones  at interval  and a little birthday cake for Mum . Should be fun .

 

So a busy week and I will post photos when they are ready .

Hats for the races , weddings

Had great fun making the hat.  Would be a lovely idea for a bride , bit different from the norm .

The flowers I used are called Gloriosa Lilies .Common name ‘Fire Lily’ The colour is very intense and beautiful

They are native to southern Africa and Asia. Interestingly they are considered invasive and dangerous weeds in Australia ! Dangerous because they are poisonous and cause the death of animals and birds when eaten . Always say , a weed is a flower in the wrong place

Be assured my flowers come from Holland  and no animals in danger!
